Intel Kenya in conjunction
with Akirachix plans to launch an initiative dubbed ' she will connect'
programme tomorrow. This launch will come handy with the second International
Day of the girl, usually conducted on October 11.The main objective of this programme
is to train a girl child on development of apps.
Agatha Gikunda (Software Service Group Lead, Intel) together with Linda Kamau ( Vice President of
Akirachix) said that there will be a 2-day free training, conducted annually in
Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru and Nairobi, targeting girls with passion in
coding. The maximum number of trainees will be 25 per class. This initiative is
open to all Kenyan girls.
To be part of the
programme, applicants need to apply for the course through ihub.co.ke. First
sessions will be convened on 1st and 2nd November at the iHub, in Nairobi.
Other sessions scheduled to be conducted outside Nairobi will be communicated
via iHub website, specifying dates and venues.
