Despite
the AU's resolution to compel the International criminal court to drop the
cases facing President Uhuru Kenyatta and The Deputy President Hon. William Ruto, The
Hague based court today ruled that Hon. Ruto must attend most of his trials.
Together with his co-accused radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang, Ruto is accused
of crimes against humanity that led to many deaths and displacement of over
600,000 people from their homes.
Speaking
at the court during the ruling, the judges resolved that Ruto will only be
allowed to apply to miss some court's proceedings. His application will only be
approved if the court deems it as
absolutely necessary.
