Breast cancer is the second leading killer cancer, which comes immediately after the lung cancer. Statistics has it that out of every eight American women, at least one will be diagnosed of breast cancer.
Below are some of the basic facts that we need to know about breast cancer
Ø  Exercise lowers your risk
Exercise is great. It's good for the mind. Furthermore, exercise have been said to improve your sex life. Women who exercise reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. It could possibly have something to do with levels of estrogen in the body and body fat percentages. Even walking can be advantageous. A recent study found that women who were active and exercised repeatedly lowered their risk by as much as 30 percent as compared to inactive women.
Ø  Breastfeeding lowers your risk
Breastfeeding is not only great for babies but also good for mothers. A research carried out established that women who breastfed their babies were up to 25 percent less probable to develop pre-menopausal breast cancer compared with those who never breastfeed.
Ø  Drinking alcohol increases your risk
The bad news is that younger women who drink alcohol regularly risk breast cancer. One study established that women amid their first period and their first pregnancy who took an average of seven alcoholic drinks per week had an 11% increased risk of developing breast cancer. Piece of advice! Go slow on alcoholic drinks
Ø  Talk with your doctor, this can save your life

It is important to talk with your doctor concerning your breast health. This is the only way that you can learn about the breast cancer risk and recommendations on treating it earlier should it develop. The doctor will be able to avail clinical examination, and adequately advice you when to get a mammogram, and most importantly at what intervals. So please, do not keep it a secret. Bring it to your doctor’s attention!
